TEACHING AND WORKSHOPS

I am currently the Juggling and Movement teacher at the Circadium School of Contemporary Circus. I have also taught juggling at juggling festivals, corporate retreats, after school programs, summer camps, dance studios, juggling festivals, backyards, parties, and more! It is a joy for me to share what I love about juggling with others, and to see the magic of people learning something new.

I truly believe that juggling is for everyone and my teaching style accommodates those beginning their juggling journey and those already well acquainted with the art of juggling.

If you are a smaller gathering or event and these rates are outside of your budget, please send me an honest offer and we will find a rate that works for us both.

For beginner group classes, each student will require three juggling balls or beanbags - depending on the location of the workshop and how many students there are, I may have enough to bring with me, or, I may have to charge a small fee to construct some simple training balls for the workshop (which the students could potentially keep).

Juggling Workshop

This workshop serves to give a deeper sense of the use of space in juggling and sequence creation. Beginning with one ball, we work with juggling patterns and body throws to create and explore the full space around our bodies. We work up to three balls slowly, and utilize stop and start patterns to practice interrupting the oft-continuous flow of juggling and giving ourselves the chances to reflect and redirect throughout the process. After developing an affinity with this practice and improvisational movement, we integrate the work into short sequences and choreographies that can be memorized and contain the nature of the work.

I've found this workshop to be beneficial to movement artists of many disciplines as it imparts a new lens with which to examine working within space and movement. These exercises inhabit the nexus of contemporary dance and contemporary juggling and translate to anyone who practices being in a space with an object.
